Hello pony-fellow John, and welcome to the site! Hope you manage to find a new home on the internet, or just some place to hang out at!

    Heya
    Hello fellow ponies!
I'm John, an orange pony with a dark ginger mane and tail (no not braeburn!) I've been on ponysquares for a year now, but it's closure meant I needed to find a new sight to do lewd things on.
I'm really into computer games, and I also love to play sports and work up a sweat. I'm always open to talking so please, drop a message! I don't bite most days.

Makes sense. I just dont recall them ever establishing that. I think they will probably age the CMC all at once between seasons, maybe by sending them on a quest and having them return aged.

Yea Rarity is constantly a busy horse cause she needs to upkeep her business and also run around to check up on her other stores, She's really hard working i see why she wants to spend time with Sweetie Belle and doesn't understand her anymore, But soon sweetie belle will grow!

I believe she travels between all three of her stores often, especially during the busy fashion seasons, and might be away from home for weeks at a time. Sweetie Belle is growin' up! I was almost expecting that they'd actually age her up a bit, even make her into an adolescent, the first of the CMC to get older like that. I mean, they've proven more than once that they're willing to advance the CMC like that, when they gave them their marks, finally.

There were a few less than desirable moments early on but I guess that was the writers balancing the story they wanted to tell with the target audience.
I wont lie, it took work to avoid crying. Growing up and accepting change has never been something Im ok with and there were a lot of really personal parallels here.
So is Rarity living in Canterlot full time nor or just spending extended time there to help with the season change? that confused me

Ye, Discord was over the top. Im not saying it wasnt believable or totally in character for him but the quality of the episode could have used a less intense Discord.

I think it was more that Discord was in full troll mode this episode, which we haven't seen in some time.

I found the episode adorable... for several reasons.

I liked that Flurry was basically a baby with magical abilities that weren't just massively overpowered plot devices... sure, she flew, she teleported and levitated a bunch of stuff, but honestly it wasn't much more powerful than the combined antics of the cake twins.

This pleased me as they basically managed to have a trouble causing baby without it being... well, overdone? They never, to me at least, went too far with any one antic or individual problem and when it all came to a head, the issue was resolved in just the right amount of time. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the episode managed to have excellent pacing for what could have been cringingly annoying if done poorly.
I also adored the quieter moment of Shining and Cadance... as well as the whole chain of art jokes.

My only complaint with this episode was Twilight herself... perhaps it was intentional, but this was almost a regression... she was more like Twilight from season 1 and 2, rather than what she was becoming... though given I become an oversized five year old around my own niece and nephew and spoil them rotten it might just be a side effect of the baby.

I think what's somewhat needed is for things to come across as normal... with the recent slice of life episodes, just having ponies living out their days is a good thing... it fleshes things out and showing Twilight and her niece having a relatively mundane crisis is a good way to do that.

How was it over the top? It was kinda low-key compared to every other open series of episodes, just slices of life. No plot to destroy Equestria. No monster to fight, no crystal kingdom popping out from the frozen waste. If most of the season is just good slice-of-life episodes full of character development, adorable scenes, and fine humor, I'd be super-happy!

I like the fanon for Flurry more than the character herself, though I still get laughs by refering to her as some sort of satan-spawn magical abomination-child like that in The Omen or something. The guard stallion running the art gallery was hilarious, and continues the tradition of most guards being adorable, mostly-useless dorks.

Pinkie was annoying in this episode, but that was kind of the point, since she was the antagonist. Maud was priceless, and her friendship with Starlight feels real, natural, and organic. They have a wonderful dynamic, and this episode made Maud from being an entertaining member of the Pie family to me, to one one of my favorite side-characters in the whole show. She...rocks.

Just a little too much Pinkie. Not a ton, her annoying self was needed for the episode to work but they overdid it a bit (cutting her volume back a bit would have helped a lot, screentime wasnt an issue). I am personally insulted that they had her say "you" instead of "derpy". Seriously, we established that Pinkie knows everyone in Ponyville in THE FIRST EPISODE and there is no reason Pinkie wouldnt call her by her name. I know they backpedaled for the SJW's the one time they actually did use her name but I am still salty about that.

Maud and SG have a great dynamic and I hope to see more of them together in the future. They did need more screentime for bonding, IDK maybe cut out the graduation scene.

I... still dont like flurry heart...

The episode was pretty nice though, I liked seeing development of the family structure and we always need more Cheerilee. They could have spent less time setting up and playing out all the errands and spent that time on Cadence and Shining Armor so their roles could be less awkward. Although I generally think the less time Flurry spends on screen the better, I will admit that there were a couple cute moments.

Needs more Applejack and discord was a bit over the top (inb4 duh) but I really liked them. It seems like the writers are getting more confident and plan on sticking around for the long haul now that they are successful even after the bronies that were just part of the fad have moved on.

    I thoroughly enjoyed both episodes.
Overall, if the whole season is more slice of life style episodes as it's been so far... I think we're in for a good time.

I really felt like Celestia was straight up tyrantlestia in the first episode.

But! I really hope that this opener is a sign of things to come in the season. If the entire season is just all of this, I really think that it'll be grouped up with S1 and 2 in terms of adoration. It's exactly what we need.

Like Battlerarity stated, it wasn't epic for a season premier...and that's fine! Cause it didn't need to be epic because these two episodes were "Dawww" to me and very chill for once, Specially with Celestial Advice, I really loved the characterization with Celestia she's a mother-figure and a bit of a mischievous princecss specially with that laugh and her worrying.
Glimglam and Trixie are best gal pals but you can still piss someone off with comments like that, Trixie is every annoying friend i've ever met specially with the comments on her past mistakes (Like time travel.) but regardless i loved the episode and how things were solved by venting frustrations! :D
    Also Teacup!

They were less epic that the previous openers, but genuinely fun slices of life that showcased some quite amusing character interplay, development, and some funny lampshading of the series' own tropes of song/dance/friendship/teamwork fixing everything. Also, teacups.
